I’ve made some mistakes on my journey to success

12 years ago I was like every other person looking to make their fortune online.

I figured it would be easy. That I’d just click a few buttons and the sales would pour in.

Certain that I was only weeks away from sending my friends selfies from the beach while they were cramming for exams, I set up my first eBay store…

Only to lose money on every item I listed.

No problem. It was a minor setback – nothing more. I moved on to the next thing. Dropshipping with Alibaba.

But…

Whatever business I tried, I just couldn’t SELL anything.

Failure after failure mounted. I could barely stand the looks of “I told you so” in the eyes of family and friends.

Money got so tight that I promised my girlfriend that if I didn’t make $1,000 by the end of the year, I’d swallow my pride, give up on my crazy dream, go back to college, and get a “real” job.

As the last days were getting crossed off the calendar, I still hadn’t figured out how to sell. My lifetime revenue was stuck BELOW ZERO.

And then…

This model would lead to tens of millions in sales over the next decade.

At the time, it sounded far fetched. It couldn’t possibly work. But I didn’t have anything to lose, so I set up the system, crossed my fingers, and went to bed.

The next morning I checked my laptop and saw…

Now, to most people $175 isn’t life changing money. Honestly, it wasn’t even close to the money I’d lost that week on failed business ideas.

But to me it was PROOF.

Proof that after months of failure – I COULD make money online. That the system I had stumbled upon WORKED!

But then I made a mistake that just about ruined everything…

Subscription boxes. T-shirts. I even created an app for clubs to sell bottle service.

Big mistake. In a few short months…

I went from making thousands of dollars a day to
over $100,000 in debt.

With no money to keep operating, I was on the verge of having to shut my business down.

All my exciting, creative, ambitious business ventures did nothing but lose money, and lose it FAST.

In a last ditch effort to save my business, I shut everything down and went back to the simple model that had been so successful for me.

It worked.

Of course it did. It was the one thing I’d never failed at.

Just in time too. I managed to save my company. I cleared our debt. And won back the good life that I briefly tasted and almost lost.

That’s when I made a promise to myself, my girlfriend, and my family. That no matter how easy, repetitive and boring it gets…
